  • Step 1: Sign into your account using your CSP number and password
  • Step 2: Click on your “Personal Menu”
  • Step 3: Select “Register for Returning Membership or Sabbatical”
  • Step 4: Follow the prompts through to payment
  • Step 5: Complete payment

What training is required for a returning patroller?

The requalification process includes the following components:

  • E-learning modules
  • Written exam
  • Training Card (yellow card) skills
  • BLS
  • Diagnostic Evaluation

Training card (yellow card), e-learning, and exam must be completed 48h prior to your requalification event. All other components will be delivered as part of your chosen 1-day in-person requalification event.

More on the requalification training cycle is available here.

*Note: written examinations can be offered in person, or with individual accommodation on request

When are the requalification training dates?

This year only 3 weekends of “super requalifications” will be offered across key locations to be determined in Central Zone. These events will be scheduled as a 1-day long evaluation of diagnostic and basic life support skills and will ONLY be offered on:

  • September 17, 18, 24, 25
  • October 1, 2

Course dates are limited in order to prepare all returning patrollers in advance of the winter season.

When does e-learning open?

Access for instructors will be available July 1st; access for non-instructors begins August 2nd. Note, there may be a slight delay between your registration and e-learning access. Patrollers are reminded to register early to avoid delays or access issues prior to requalification events.

Enter the e-learning portal via the link on your ZIMS personal page. Note, passwords may vary between ZIMS and e-learning.

Why are the number of recertifications limited this year? Will more options be available later in the season?

It is essential we prepare to deliver all requalification training before new patroller training begins.

Instructor resources are limited, and we are taking precautions not to overload the volunteer training department capacity to safely prepare all patrollers for this year. This training program also respects the planning needs of our resort partners, setting everyone up for the best possible season.

Do not delay, spots are limited and no additional recertification courses are planned at this time. Any concerns please contact your Patrol Leader as soon as possible.

What is required to return from sabbatical?

If you are returning from a 1-year sabbatical you are only required to complete a regular requalification event alongside other returning patrollers. See requalification details for the 2022-2023 season above.

Sabbaticals of 2-years or longer may require a new patroller AFA course or modified course and should contact VP Training vptraining@skipatrolcentral.com to determine the appropriate training.

What happens if I fail my requalification exam?

Patrollers must come prepared on test day. Don’t forget to review your material and practice in advance of the requalification weekend.

Typically only a retest opportunity will be offered at a late Fall date to be announced.

In the unlikely scenario that a patroller is unsuccessful on two successive requalifications, they have the opportunity to re-train by enrolling in the 23/24 new candidate course.

What is the 2022/2023 returning patroller fee?

Returning patroller fees vary depending on the date of registration. Register early to get the best rate!

  • **EARLY BIRD** (up to July 31 midnight): $210
  • August 1 to August 31 midnight: $245
  • September 1 to September 15 midnight: $300

Registration closes September 15, 2022 midnight.

Why do I have to register so early?

Registration is open now through to September 15. Patrollers are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred recertification date and location. The registration cut off is aligned with the available recertification training dates and will ensure no one is unprepared for the upcoming season.

Will new patrollers courses be offered this year?

Yes, new patrollers courses will be available this Fall for booking in ZIMS once dates and venues are confirmed.

What happens if COVID continues to be a factor?

At this point we anticipate returning to a fairly normal patrol year. That said, if circumstances dramatically change we will re-evaluate and communicate any changes to you as soon as possible.

Do I have to be vaccinated in order to patrol?

Yes. Following the lead of our heath care industry partners, Central Zone will continue to require all patrollers are fully vaccinated before participating in any CSP event or registering for your first patrol shift. Please note, no personal health information will be stored or retained by the CSP.

What if I am unable for medical or religious reasons unable to be vaccinated?

If you are unable to get vaccinated you may be a non-patrolling member of the CSP.

Will I still have to wear a mask?

Yes. All patrollers will be expected to adhere to public health guidelines and to our CSP protocol for PPE. Patrollers should continue to expect the required use of protective PPE in classroom and resort settings.

How much is the administrative fee to issue a refund?

$45.00
