Go&#8230;to Zone Race!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharpen those edges, because Zone Race is back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Sunday<\/strong> <strong>March 19, <\/strong>the fastest event of the year is coming to the hills of Grey County at <strong>Beaver Valley Ski Club<\/strong>. Sign up to show us your need for speed and win bragging rights for you and your resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will have the chance to compete in individual time trials as well as a team toboggan challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race will be hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beavervalley.ca\/\">Beaver Valley Ski Club<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>241 Windy Ln Dr #123<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Markdale, ON N0C 1H0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Race fee is $75 per person or $200 per team<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Race fee includes lift ticket, race entry and lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only registered groups of 4 will be entered into the team toboggan challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline to register is midnight <strong>Friday, March 10, 2022<\/strong>. Registrations should be done either by individual or by group on <a href=\"https:\/\/zims.skipatrolcentral.com\/\">ZIMS<\/a> through your personal menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awards are provided for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ski Team (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Snowboard Team (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Toboggan Team (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Individual Skier &#8211; Female (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Individual Skier &#8211; Male (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Individual Snowboarder &#8211; Female (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Individual Snowboarder &#8211; Male (1st, 2nd, 3rd)<\/li><li>Queen of the Hill &#8211; Best combo time of a female ski &amp; snowboard run (1st)<\/li><li>King of the Hill &#8211; Best combo time of a male ski and snowboard run (1st)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RULES FOR CENTRAL ZONE RACE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Each team must consist of four members of the same discipline and must&nbsp;have at least one female and one male.<\/li><li>Each racer will compete in two runs.<ul><li>The combined total of the two runs will be used for individual placing.<\/li><li>The faster of the two runs will be used for the team score.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Racers will run in numerical bib order for the first run and reverse numerical order for the second run.<\/li><li>Racers must be at the start area in order of number. If you miss your turn you must wait until the end to complete your run.<\/li><li>Individual winners are decided by cumulative time of both runs. If a racer fails to make both runs, they are disqualified from the individual competition, but if they have completed at least one run they are still eligible for the team competition.<\/li><li>A complete run is one in which the racer leaves the race start, passes on the correct side of each gate (without missing one), crosses the finish line with a valid time and is properly registered for the race.<\/li><li>The course is subject to change based on the placing of gates and how the snow holds up throughout the day.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toboggan Challenge:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The toboggan team can consist of any four members, and disciplines racing for the resort.<\/li><li><em>*NEW* More than one toboggan challenge team <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">may register<\/span> from the same resort.<\/em><\/li><li>A rough course map and instructions will be given out at registration and explained in the coaches meeting.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ready.
