CSP Supports: Go Skiing, Go Snowboarding<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

TORONTO, ON – Patrollers descended on Nathan Phillips Square February 15 & 16 in support of as special event by Go Skiing, Go Snowboarding<\/a> – an industry initiative to bring snow sports to \u201cnever-ever\u201d Canadians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As is often the case in Ontario, the team had to bring their own snow. Built with over 15 truck loads of snow stockpiled from local storage sites the result was a gentle slope across the front of Toronto City Hall \u2013 aka Nathan Phillips Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While hardly a ski \u201chill\u201d by typical CSP standards, the unintimidating terrain was the ideal place for snowsport-curious Torontonians to give sliding a first try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized by the Ontario Snow Resorts Association (OSRA) and the Canadian Ski Council alpine, snowboard, sit-ski, and cross-country equipment was available free to all willing participants. In the end, this high visibility event attracted hundreds of curious onlookers, and garnered significant media attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best of all, poised front and centre, the distinctive red and white of the CSP shone not only as a symbol of slope safety but more importantly, as ambassadors of the sport we love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A big thank you to the over 15 volunteer patrollers who took time to help staff this great event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
